Manchester as it is currently known is a home for all citizens of the world in the sense that the mix of races and color in this city creates an atmosphere of complete and total diversity. Manchester is known as a city for schooling and boasts of one of the most prestigious tertiary institutions in the world known as the University of Manchester.
Thus, you will find that more than one third of its citizens are students from all over the globe. This makes it a city that has a lot of activities. Unlike London though, it does not have a very intense night life as it is quieter even though it is a place where there is a lot of activity going on. Following closely, was the 2002 Common Wealth games which was hosted in the city. The two incidents transformed the previously drab and dull city into a modernized semi- commercial city and brought in a lot of business men and students who suddenly saw opportunities springing up in the city. In all, nothing compares to the presence of the city’s football team Manchester United FC and the old Trafford stadium. This stadium is where crucial matches are played particularly during the FA cup and Champions league.
